Candlelight vigil to be held in remembrance of Pan Am Flight 103 bombing

The ceremony honoring 35 Syracuse University students will be held tonight on the Quad.

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight in remembrance of the 35 Syracuse University students who were among the 270 people who died in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on Dec. 21, 1988, according to SU News.

More than 50 students gathered at the steps of Hendricks Chapel on Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil to remember the students killed on Pan Am Flight 103.

On Dec. 21, 1988, a terrorist bombing on Pan Am Flight 103 caused the plane to explode over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 270 people. Thirty-five of those were students returning from Syracuse University’s study abroad programs.
