Bus regulations need to regulate how much weight a bus can hold as more Americans are taking public transportation.

The Federal Transit Authority is proposing the weight limit be raised from 150 pounds to 175 pounds, when considering the average weight for passengers. This may mean fewer people will be allowed on a city bus, according to USA Today

Along with the weight increase, the FTA wants to add an additional quarter of a square foot of floor space per passenger. The FTA is making these changes "to acknowledge the expanding girth of the average passenger," the agency says.

Centro's customers ask company not to increase fares to $2.

Centro is increasing its fares as a way of decreasing its $4.8 million gap in its next budget.

The hearing began at 5 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center in downtown Syracuse. It is one of five public hearings Centro has scheduled on the proposed fare increase.

The other public hearings are scheduled for Thursday at the Radisson Hotel in Utica, Monday at the Cayuga County Office Building in Auburn, March 16 at the Oswego County Office Building in Oswego and March 17 at the Rome Common Council chambers. All hearings begin at 5 p.m.

Police examining video tapes of alleged negligence.

BALDWINSVILLE, NY -- An unidentified bus driver has been accused of texting while driving students. According to the The Post-Standard, Superintendent Jean Danlge asked the bus driver to take administrative leave during the investigaton.

Concerned parents brought up the issue to the district who then began the investigation. Dangle has given videotapes of the bus driver to the Baldwinsville Police to investigate.

A Syracuse man was allegedly Tasered three times after resisting arrest on Saturday.

On Comstock Ave. Syracuse police and SU Public Safety use force to capture a man with traffic violations.  The Post-Standard reports that on Saturday Barasheen R. Moody, 27, of Maple Terrace was operating an unauthorized vehicle and had a blood alcohol level of over the legal limit, 0.08 percent.  Moody was charged with misdemeanor counts of each offense, including resisting arrest.  After being stopped Moody ran away from Officer Scott Prutsman and proceeded down Comstock where...
