Syracuse basketball's slate of opponents have been revealed for its first season in the ACC.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its conference schedule for the upcoming basketball season, releasing each team's 16-game schedule.

Syracuse begins ACC play January 4 at home against Miami and finishes the regular season March 9 at Florida State. Along with the Hurricanes, the Orange will play Boston College and Pittsburgh both home and away.

One of Syracuse's more highly anticipated games is February 1, when Duke will visit the Carrier Dome. The game will be featured on ESPN as part of its College GameDay program.

The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Michael Carter-Williams Thursday in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft.

Former Orange Michael Carter-Williams was selected in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft Thursday.

The Philadelphia 76ers took Carter-Williams, Syracuse’s starting point guard this past season, with the 11th overall pick. Carter-Williams left school early, breaking out his sophomore year after a frustrating freshman campaign that saw him average just 10.3 minutes per game. This season, he averaged 11.9 points and five rebounds, while also leading the Big East conference in assists (7.3) and steals (2.7).

Grant is joined by Montrezl Harrell of the national champion Louisville Cardinals and Rasheed Sulaimon of the soon-to-be conference rival Duke Blue Devils, among others.

Commentary: Watching the Final Four game at the legendary campus bar creates lasting memories, despite the 'Cuse defeat.

We didn’t have time to let the Jello shots set.

“Oh my god!” my roommate Susie squealed from her room as my friend Nik tapped the jiggly contents of one of the orange rinds in our fridge skeptically, “The line at Chuck's is already so long!”

SU couldn’t bounce back from their loss against Georgetown as they lost their second game in a row to Marquette. SU (22-6, 10-5) ended up losing 74-71 to the Golden Eagles (20-7, 11-4) who now move ahead of the Orange in the Big East standings. Here are 3 thoughts from the game:

1. Free Throws: SU had a fine free throw shooting percentage-they shot 71.4 percent from the line-but they were unable to get to the line enough. They shot 7 free throws while Marquette shot a whopping 35 free throws on the night. If the Orange wants to get back on a winning track, they will have to do so without fouling.

Led by Brandon Triche, the SU offense was efficient in their 43-point win over Bloomsburg in their final exhibition game.

The Syracuse Orange men's basketball team doesn't need any more exhibition games. Lucky for them, they don't have any more.

The Orange annihilated the Bloomsburg Huskies 103-60 behind the stellar, aggressive play of senior Brandon Triche, who was an efficient 9-for-11 from the field and 2-for-3 behind the arc, for 23 points. Triche added seven assists and five rebounds.

SU's Orange Madness will treat Syracuse fans and students to a preview of the men's and women's basketball teams before the season.

On Oct. 12, former SU basketball star Scoop Jardine and Jazmine Jordan, daughter of Michael Jordan, will host Orange Madness in the Carrier Dome, the SU athletics department announced Wednesday.

This year's special guest performer is rapper Wale, who has produced two studio albums with a third due to be released in early 2013. Tickets are free open to the public, and the event is set to begin at 8 p.m.

Professional artist and Syracuse sports fan Michael Borkowski has applied his own original look to the school's popular mascot.

Michael Borkowski fell in love with Syracuse sports from the stands in the newly constructed Carrier Dome. The Syracuse native watched firsthand as Dick MacPherson rebuilt the football program and Jim Boeheim coached the basketball team to national prominence in the early '80s.

Only one thing confused Borkowski: the lack of an official mascot. Syracuse University hadn't yet adopted Otto the Orange, and was in the middle of a mix-and-match dark period of mascots that confused the young SU fan.
