Student hit by car on campus

An ambulance took a male student to the hospital after a car hit him on Waverly Ave. and S. Crouse Ave.

It smelled like burning rubber and beer. It sounded like a tire screech. The street looked wet and something had shattered a few feet from the curb of Waverly Ave. and S. Crouse. 

Around 4 p.m., a male student was hit by a car while crossing the street. He was responsive after the accident and sat on the curb while medics spoke to him and put a neck brace on him. The student's identity is unknown at this time.

MLB baseball star arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Detroit Tigers first baseman, Miguel Cabrera, was arrested for suspected drunk driving and two counts of resisting an officer without violence late Wednesday night, according to a Florida sheriff's office, according to CNN.

Cabrera, 27, was obtained and put into the St. Lucie County, Florida jail at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, about an hour after the arrest. He posted bail of $1,350 and was released at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday.

F.D.A. to take stance on Four Loko

The Food and Drug Administration will announce Wednesday whether it believes the alcoholic energy drinks are safe.

The Food and Drug Administration is planning to announce whether or not it believes that energy drinks that combine alcohol and caffeine are safe or legal, a New York Times article said.

The F.D.A. has been pressured to address the issue with recent reports of young people getting sick or dying after drinking the blended drinks.

The top selling caffeinated alcoholic beverage, Four Loko, has been blamed for several deaths over the past few months.

The struggle to find an authentic experience in Tangiers

Morocco has been at the top of my list of places to visit while abroad from the beginning. Its proximity to Spain, 340 miles, and the enchantment of going to a country with camels, potent spices, and ocean views made it a must see spot for me. All of this, coupled with the fact that I’d heard stories from my Mom who spent six years in Egypt in her 20s, had me raring to visit northern Africa.
