Yankees ALDS rotation announced: Burnett out

Much-maligned starter A.J. Burnett has not been named part of the New York Yankees' pitching rotation for the American League Division Series.

Syracuse junior forward Kris Joseph and sophomore point guard Brandon Triche are two of the 50 players named to the John R. Wooden Award preseason list, according to the Post-Standard.

Joseph won the Big East's Sixth-Man of the Year award last season, averaging 10.8 points per game. Triche started every game for the Orange as a freshman, averaging 8.1 points per game.

Other Big East players on the list were Connecticut's Kemba Walker, Pittsburgh's Ashton Gibbs, Georgetown's Austin Freeman, Seton Hall's Jeremy Hazell and Villanova's Corey Fisher.
