The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of Central New York including the Syracuse area, according to The Post-Standard. Eight to 12 inches of heavy, wet snow could fall by 5 p.m., the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures will fall from low 30s to 20s as the day wears on, the weather service said. Light winds from the northeast will swing to the northwest, blowing from 15 mph to 30 mph. Travel will be difficult as snow covers the roads and begins to drift as winds pick up, forecasters warned. And downed trees, limbs and power lines could lead to power interruptions.
Less snow is predicted for areas north of Onondaga County. The storm warning extends to 9 p.m.
