U.S. transportation secretary and Gov. Paterson announce crackdown of cell phone use while driving

Plus Tiger Woods tees off at the Masters and Obama signs a treaty with Russia.

Governor David Paterson and U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced today that Syracuse will receive $300,000 to crack down on drivers using cell phones.  The two appeared on the Syracuse University campus this afternoon to announce the measure.  The new program is being tested in both Syracuse and Hartford, Connecticut.  See the full story here.

Tiger Woods Tees Off at Masters

The much anticipated day when Tiger Woods would return to golf is finally here.  At 1:43 p.m., Woods teed off of the first hole at Augusta National and sent the golf ball straight down the fairway.  Woods has been in the public eye for his entire career, but most recently in his sex scandals.  Woods is currently even through seven holes.  See the full story here.

Russia and U.S. Sign Nuclear Arms Reduction Pact

President Obama and Russian President Demitri Medvedev signed an agreement today that will control nuclear arms between the two nations.  The treaty is a big step in relations between two former Cold War foes.

"No one stands to lose from this agreement," said Medvedov,"Both parties have won."

The ratification of the treaty requires a two thirds vote, or 67 senators.
