Three earthquakes strike Chile during inauguration

Plus, Time Warner restores phone, internet service, and a report: Tiger working with Fleischer

As Chile was inaugurating its new president, not just one, but three earthquakes struck.

CNN.com is reporting that a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Liberador at 11:29 a.m. local time (9:39 a.m. ET) on Thursday. A 6.9-magnitude quake occurred about 16 minutes later about 89 miles south-southwest of Santiago, and about 90 miles away from Valparaiso, where Sebastian Pinera was being inaugurated as President. A third earthquake, measured at 6.0-magnitude, struck 27 minutes after that.

These are the strongest aftershocks to occur in Chile since the 8.8-magnitude quake that struck the west coast on Feb. 27. However, there have been no immediate reports of damages or injuries.

Despite the quakes, Pinera became the Chilean president at around 12:15 p.m. local time.

Time Warner restores phone, internet service

9WSYR is reporting that thousands of its Digital Phone and Roadrunner customers were without service from 7–10 a.m. Thursday morning.

Time Warner spokesperson Jeff Unitias says the outage was caused by a technical problem with a router in Rochester. The outage affected customers in both the Rochester and Syracuse areas.

Service has now been fully restored.

Report: Tiger working with Fleischer

Multiple sources are reporting to ESPN that Tiger Woods is likely to make a return at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando, Fla., which takes place March 25-28.

Two golf sources say that former presidential press secretary Ari Fleischer has been working with Woods to figure out his return to golf. Fleishcer is the same person who helped Mark McGwire return to baseball as the St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach after his self-imposed exile following allegations of steroid use. Woods has taken an indefinite leave from golf following an admission of having extra-marital affairs late last year.

"[Woods and Fleischer] were in his living room this week going over a strategy for how to handle Bay Hill in two weeks," one source told the New York Post.

Neither Woods, Wood's agent Mark Steinberg, nor Fleischer have publicly confirmed this report.
