Tate Forcier is transferring to the University of Miami, according to ESPN. The former Michigan quarterback was academically ineligible to play in the Jan. 1 Gator Bowl for the Wolverines and will now head down south to Florida to play for the Miami Hurricanes.
Forcier started for Michigan in his freshman year but this year was benched in favor of Denard Robinson. He backed Robinson up this past season.
Before choosing Miami, Forcier considered schools including Kansas State, Washington, Arizona and Montana.
Despite starting for Michigan during his college debut, Forcier was paluged by injuries and never able to regain the starting quarterback position, especially after Robinson flourished for the Wolverines.
