Syracuse woman injured in drive-by shooting

According to the Post-Standard a Syracuse woman was injured in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night as she was walking along the 1100 block of South McBride Street. Shadetta L. Franklin, 18, was taken to University Hospital after the gunshot shattered a bone in her right forearm, police said.

Witnesses saw a cream or light brown SUV drive by Franklin as the shots were fired, police said.

China earthquake kills 400, injures 10,000

An earthquake in western China killed at least 400 people and injured about 10,000 according to ABC news reports. The 6.9 magnititude earthquake struck the remote, mountainous Qinghai province at 7:49 a.m.

Baldwinsville native Tim Connolly set to return for Sabres playoff run

After missing the Sabres' final nine games of the regular season with a foot injury, Baldwinsville native and Syracuse Stars alum Tim Connolly is set to return to the ice for the NHL playoffs. Buffalo opens its first-round series against the Boston Bruins Thursday. Connolly took part in the Sabres' full team workout Tuesday.
