Syracuse soccer player named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

Freshman Brittany Anghel was named Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance against Rutgers and Seton Hall.

Brittany Anghel, a freshman on the Syracuse Women's Soccer team, was named Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance this weekend an article on the Syracuse athletics website reports. After playing for 200 minutes in two games, Anghel did not allow a goal and had 14 saves.

It has been three years since the last time a Syracuse player has been awarded the title, and it is Anghel's first career Player of the Week honor other than being on the league's weekly Honor Roll twice this season. Anghel is the second Orange soccer player to earn a Player of the Week title this season. Rosina Callisto was named the Offensive Player of the Week for her performances against Yale and St. John's.

The Orange regular season ends this weekend on the road. Syracuse will play at Marquette on Friday at 8 p.m. and at South Florida on Sunday at 1 p.m.
