ESPN Radio 97.7 and 100.1 has added Syracuse legend Derrick Coleman to it's roster for the Big East and NCAA Tournaments, according to The Post-Standard. Coleman has been a guest on "Disturbing the Peace" during basketball season and will join the show as an analyst providing commentary on the tournaments. He joins the show's regular hosts Chris McManus and Steve Uknais.
Coleman played four years at Syracuse starting in 1986. He helped Syracuse to the 1987 NCAA championship game where they lost to Indiana. He remains the school's all-time leading rebounder and ranks second behind Lawrence Moten in points. He was the first overall pick by New Jersey in the 1990 NBA Draft.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the ESPN radio team during the Big East and NCAA Tournaments,'' Coleman said. "I look forward to tournament time every year. It gives the opportunity for the truly talented and biggest hearts to shine. The level of intensity can be felt on the floor, on the bench, in the locker room and even behind the microphone. One loss and you are out. Pure basketball, it’s like nothing else. Bring on the madness!”
