Six foreign troops were killed in Afghanistan today, making it the deadliest day for NATO in nearly a month, according to CNN.
Four of the service members died in a bomb explosion in southern Afghanistan. The other two deaths occurred earlier.
One died in an improvised explosive device attack. The other died in an insurgent attack in the eastern part of the country.
Today’s deaths are most in a single day for international troops since September 18. The six deaths add to the total that makes 2010 the deadliest year for international troops since the war began nine years ago. More than 2,000 NATO service members have died in the U.S.-led invasion, according to NPR.
