"Today jobs triumphed over politics," Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, said to The New York Times.
Democrats argued this bill would create thousands of jobs and improve the employment market in the country.
Many Republicans backed this measure "grudgingly" according to The New York Times, as it was by then obvious that the democrats had won.
"This Senate jobs bill is not perfect ... but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work," Republican Senator Scott Brown, who was the first to back the measure, said. (Fox News)
The senate is likely to pass this measure seeing as the vote turn out was 62-30. However, if the House will approve legislation without making substantial changes is still unknown, according to The New York Times.
Al Qaeda's Ayman Al-Zawahri directed some harsh words toward the Turkish government, blaming them for most crimes done to Muslims and Islam.
CNN does not claim this is actually Al-Zawahri speaking, but their analysts say that the recording is consistent with Al-Zawahri's accent and voice. If it was Al-Zawahri speaking, this would be his first 2010 audio message.
This audio message was produced by As-Sahab Media, Al-Qaeda's production company, according to CNN. There was no personal appearance by the speaker in the 22-minute video, just a picture of him, and the audio message.
"The Turkish troops will carry out the same operations in Afghanistan that the Jews are carrying out in Palestine," said the speaker at one point.
The video also featured a Turkish man who claimed to have attacked a US base in Afghanistan, killing eight U.S. soldiers and 12 Afghans. However, the U.S. military says that this claim is not true. (CNN)
