Secret Service chief speaks out on 'crashers', Salahis to be issued subpoenas

Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan has called the actions of the Service 'indefensible' and the Homeland Security is issuing subpoenas for the two crashers.

White House Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan commented on the breach of security suffered at a White House dinner last week calling the actions of his men 'unacceptable'.  A Washington D.C. couple managed to get their way into the state dinner without even having an invitation.  The Homeland Security Committee has determined that they will issue subpoenas for the couple to appear at the hearing.

My take:  Yes, I know this story has been saturated so much in the news.  I chose to write on this because I thought it was important to know what the Secret Service had to say about this.

21 people indicted on drug trafficking charge

Two men from New York City were arrested today for selling a kilogram of cocaine for $38,000 near Rochester.  The drugs were reportedly on their way to Syracuse.  The authorities also seized paraphernalia and $50,000.  A 112-count indictment was issued identifying 21 men throughout Central New York that were planning on selling the drugs.

My take:  I chose this story because this is a huge drug bust potentially putting a lot of dealers behind bars.  It also was relevant because the drugs were on their way to Syracuse.

New Jersey Nets start out season 0-18, worst in NBA history

The New Jersey Nets lost to the Dallas Mavericks 117-101 last night.  The loss is New Jersey's 18th in a row to start this season, officially setting the record for the worst start in NBA history.  The wheels are falling off in the swamps of Jersey.  Coach Lawrence Frank was fired two games ago and GM Kiki Vandeweghe will step into coach the rest of the season.

My take:  This was the most important story sportswise, I thought.  This is an historic mark and needs to be talked about.
