Smith admitted to attempted first-degree sexual abuse concering a 41-year-old woman back in April 2008, and this 34-year-old woman now says there was an incident this past March involving Smith. The woman charged Smith with similar allegations and said she wanted the community to know "the real Tim is a pervert." Smith's massage license is now suspended. He must serve 10 years probation and is awaiting a hearing, which could deem him a Level 1 or 2 sex offender. Reports are from syracuse.com.
My Take: This second charge basically puts this man in more trouble. He already admitted to shady behavior, and now this woman, from what it seems, is emphatically calling him out on another instance.
Paulus still starting
Syracuse football coach Doug Marrone said Greg Paulus will still remain the team's starting quarterback, according to syracuse.com. The Paulus starting-not starting issue has been a popular topic of conversation for the last few games. The Orange are winless in the Big East conference. Paulus's 65.8% completion percentage is actualy on pace to break the school record, but he also could be the school's all-time interceptions leader. Paulus has thrown 10 touchdown passes and has 14 interceptions on the year. Marrone said Paulus is the best choice for winning games, and said the next two games are about winning and not about getting backup Ryan Nassib experience.
My Take: Paulus's completion percentage is actually very good, despite it being surprising. With only two games left, the team has already matched last year's win total, but Marrone is looking to best that and feels Paulus gives the Orange a better chance at winning than Nassib. Nassib is the starter for next year and will get his reps.
The two largest producers of greenhouse gas emissions are teaming up to fight the issue, according to reports from cnn.com. Early plans call for a new U.S.-China clean energy research center. The U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark is coming up and both China and the U.S. hope to have all 191 countries jump on board to counter the climate change problem.
My Take: No specifics have been laid out yet, but it would appear that the U.S. is on board to help tackle climate change. The Kyoto Protocol in 1997 called for reduced emissions but the U.S. never ratified it. Since the U.S. is a massive contributor in emitting greenhouse gases, a step to reduce the emissions at the Climate Change Conference could make some impact.
