President Obama will host the Dalai Lama at the White House today.

It will be his first presidential welcome of the Tibetan spiritual leader.

China has warned the White House that U.S. and China relations will be damaged because of this meeting.

U.N. climate chief steps down

The Associated Press reports that U.N. climate chief Yvo de Boer will be resigning this July.

De Boer is stepping down after four years as the U.N.'s top climate change official.

His July 1 resignation will come five months before a meeting of 193 nations in Mexico to come to an agreement regarding controls of greenhouse gases.

De Boer is deeply frustrated with the lack of agreement on worldwide global warming policies, and said December's climate change summit at Copenhagen was a disappointment.
