The eruption of the Icelandic volcano strengthened this afternoon. After slowing down for the past few days, a new cloud of ash is now heading towards the United Kingdom. This will once again threaten European air travel. According to CNN.com, the volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, erupted a new cloud of ash 15,000 feet in the air. This dashed the hopes of the travelers stranded on either side of the Atlantic.
Scottish airports are expected to reopen on Tuesday. The European Transit Commissioner expects that there will be more planes flying by tomorrow, but air travel will not completely be back to normal. The European Union has decided to split air traffic into three zones. One zones will not be open, the second zone will be open to all flights and the third level will only be open for certain flights. This will go into effect on Tuesday.
The Syracuse University football program received its first oral agreement for the 2011 freshman class. Louie Addazio the son of Syracuse's former assistant coach and the current University of Florida offensive coordinator called coach Doug Marrone on Sunday. Addazio is a junior tight end at Buchholz High School in Gainsville, Florida.
According to the Post-Standard, Addazio visited Syracuse this past weekend to watch the annual spring game. "I realized this is where I want to be," said Addazio. He had offers to play at South Florida, Central Florida and Akron.
Oprah Winfrey made her first public remarks regarding her new biography by Kitty Kelly today. Winfrey called this book her 'so-called-biography." Winfrey spoke at the New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards where, according to People Magazine, she bashed the book.
In Kelly's book, she wrote about Winfrey's drug abuse and questioned her claim that she had been sexually abused as a child. Kelly also questions if Vernon Winfrey is really Oprah's father. Winfrey concluded her speech by saying that the comments surrounding this controversy shall eventually pass.
