Michael Vick won't be a free agent when the NFL begins its season this year, reports ESPN. He signed a franchise tender with the Philadelphia Eagles for one year worth about $20 million.
Vick was released from prison two years ago and signed a much smaller two-year deal with the Eagles who were one of the only teams to give him a chance. Vick made a little more than $5 million last year in a Pro Bowl season with the Eagles.
A franchise tender entitles Vick to the average of the top 5 players in the league at his position, which would put his 2011 salary at an estimated $20 million, according to ESPN.

There still remains the question of whether or not there will be football this year with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement schedule to expire tomorrow at midnight. But when a new CBA is signed, Michael Vick won't be looking for work.
He tweeted after he signed his contract this morning, "Proud to be an Eagle!".
