Joe Biden stole some of the spotlight from Barack Obama today with one word: the f-word. USA Today reports Biden swore after he introduced the president at today’s landmark health care bill signing. While Democrats cheered for Obama as he came to the podium, Biden embraced the president and remarked to him about the bill’s passing: “This is a big f------ deal!” The swear word could be heard over the air on MSNBC, which televised the historic signing. The White House’s press secretary Robert Gibbs poked fun at Biden’s comment on his Twitter account, tweeting, “And yes, Mr. Vice President, you’re right.”
Beck considers a lawsuit
The Post Standard reports that Syracuse resident Jeffrey Beck met with an attorney at City Hall this morning to discuss a potential lawsuit against Syracuse Police after an incident that occurred last Oct.. Beck returned to his apartment after work on Oct. 20th to find his front door broken and his dog missing. Beck’s dog Sadie escaped and was killed by a car as a result. Police had broken into the apartment in search of a gunman after they heard shots being fired. Police Chief Gary Miguel has apologized to Beck and offered to pay for the dog and broken door. Beck says he is still unsure whether he will file a lawsuit or not.
Prosecutors think arenas should serve three months in jail
According to ESPN, prosecutors in the Gilbert Arenas case are recommending that the Wizards guard serve three months in jail for bringing four guns into a Verizon Center locker room earlier this season. Prosecutors are also recommending that Arenas serve three years probation and complete 300 hours of community service as part of his sentence. The NBA star pled guilty to carrying a pistol without a license back on January 15th. Both Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittendon, who was involved in the altercation with Arenas, have been suspended for the rest of the NBA season.
