Jim Boeheim to be honored by former SU players at NBA Exhibition Game

Syracuse Univeristy Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim will be honored at the NBA preseason game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons Oct. 15.

Several famous faces will return to the Carrier Dome on Oct. 15 to award Jim Boeheim with the Sporting News' 2010 Coach of the Year Award, according to the Post-Standard

One of these faces includes Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, a Syracuse legend in the NBA hall of fame and Boeheim's old roommate.

The award will be given to Boeheim during the NBA preseason game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons, which will also mark the return of former SU players Johnny Flynn and Wesley Johnson to the dome.

At least 20 former SU players will attend the game to help honor Boeheim for his coaching after his record of 30-5 and a No. 1 ranking last season and over 800 wins in his career.
