 It was an ending most didn’t see coming. With heads hung low and tears falling like rain, the defeated Syracuse University men’s basketball team walked off the court after a losing 63-59 to the Butler Bulldogs.

The Orange shocked most with their early exit from the NCAA tournament, scoring a season low of 59 points. Though the Orange have had one of their most successful seasons in SU history, with a Big East Championship under their belts, according to The Post Standard junior forward-turned-center Rick Jackson quotes “Right now, for us, man, that means nothing”.

 

Syracuse police seek clues in South Townsend Street shooting

 According to The Post Standard, Syracuse police are investigating a shooting this afternoon at Pioneer Homes that left a man in extremely critical condition at a local hospital, police said.

The victim was a 22-year-old man who was standing outside his apartment at 1129 S. Townsend St. at about 1 p.m. when a man walked up and shot him, said Sgt. Tom Connellan.

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital and where he was rushed into surgery. The police are not sure of the victim’s identity.

Obama completes arms control deal with Russia

According to The New York TimesPresident Obama finalized a new arms control treaty with Russia on Friday that will pare back the cold war nuclear arsenals of each country.

President Obama and President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia sealed the deal in a morning telephone call, confirming final details. The treaty will be signed on April 8 in Prague during a ceremony designed to showcase the improved relations between the two countries.
