ICE agents shot in Mexico, one dies

Two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents shot by unidentified gunmen.

The two American agents, whose names have not yet been released, were driving between Monterrey and Mexico City when the shooting happened today, according to CNN

One of the agents was critically wounded and died due to injuries he sustained. The second agent is said to be in stable conditions. He received shots in the arm and leg. 

According to an ICE official, these were the first shootings that have ever happened in Mexico targeting ICE agents. U.S. law enforcement agencies are already talking with Mexican authorities to capture the persons responsible for committing the crime. 

Currently, ICE has 30 officers working in offices in Mexico City. They are in charge of working with various issues including drugs, weapons, currency and immigration.
