The closure of I-81 between I-690 and Court Street is being prolonged by a legal and monetary battles, the Syracuse Post-Standard reports.
The New York State Department of Transportation closed the section of the highway off last friday amid fears that a crumbling building on nearby State Street could fall onto the highway.
The City of Syracuse and the State Department of Transportation are in an ongoing legal battle to decide who should fund and take responsibility for demolishing the building.
City officials originally estimated the highway would be re-opened in less than two weeks, but it seems unlikely that the funding conflict will be resolved soon enough.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials have announced that several people died when a passenger bus crashed on an Arizona interstate, according to CNN.com.
The department did not say exactly how many had been killed, but a Phoenix Fire Department official told KNXV-TV that five were dead, a figure that has not been confirmed by CNN.
The tour bus crashed at milepost 173 on Interstate 10, south of Phoenix and blocked both westbound traffic lanes.
Anonymous senior White House officials announced Thursday that they are nearing a recommendation for President Obama to give Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four of his alleged accomplices a military trial, according to CBS News.
