Former president George W. Bush has a new job. He will be a featured guest speaker at the "Get Motivated" business seminar in Fort Worth,Texas. He will be joined at the motivational seminar by his former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. The seminar will take place on October 26th.
My take: It seems fitting that Bush will speak in Texas. It quite possibly could be the only place where he gets a warm reception. This is also the first major function for the former president.
Stevie Wonder will be performing tomorrow at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The legendary musician will have four backup singers and eight musicians. Wonder is expected to perform many of his popular hits at the concert. Tickets are still available for 85 dollars to the event starting at 8 p.m. Friday.
My take: Wonder is one of the most gifted musicians ever. I'm not sure if I'd pay 85 dollars, though. That's a bit steep.
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-4 last night to win the National League Championship Series. They took the series in 5 games. Jayson Werth led the charge for Philadelphia smashing two homers in the win. This is Philly's second straight trip to the World Series. They await the winner of the Yankees-Angels series.
My take: If it's a Phillies-Yankees World Series, which it looks like it could possibly be, that would be awful for me, a New York Met fan.
