Four Penn Traffic stores to close over coming weeks

Plus, the pilot of the Austin plane crash identified and a deadline deal sends McGrady to the Knicks.

Tops Market has announced its intentions to close four Penn Traffic supermarkets, according to The Post-Standard.

P&C Foods in Hornell, two BiLo stores in Pennsylvania and a P&C outlet in Vermont were the four stores to miss the cut. A spokesman for Tops Market cites economic vitality, store conditions and location as the three overriding factors which led to the closures.

Tops Market purchased most of Penn Traffic's assets, most notably its 79 supermarkets, after Penn Traffic filed for bankruptcy. The chain company sold for more than $85 million.

Austin plane crash deemed intentional

The pilot of the plane that crashed in Austin has been identified, according to CNN.com. Federal authorities have also determined that the crash was deliberate.

Andrew Joseph Stack, 53, intentionally flew his Piper Cherokee PA-28 into a building housing an International Revenue Service office and roughly 200 employees. Two  people were injured and one is still mising, but no deaths have been reported.

Stack, an Austin resident, had an apparent grudge with the IRS. On Thursday he set his house on fire before crashing his small plane into the building.

One of the victims was treated at a hospital in San Antonio and released, while the other is still in critical, but stable condition after suffering burns on one quarter of his body.

Knicks complete deal for McGrady

The New York Knicks have finalized a deal for Tracy McGrady just before the 3 p.m. trade deadline, according to ESPN.com.

The deal, which involves the Knicks, Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets, is a follow-up trade on an earlier deal that sent rising star, Kevin Martin, to Houston.

The Knicks pawned off rookie Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries and Larry Hughes to Sacramento in exchange for Sergio Rodriguez and McGrady. The Rockets, through both trades, have obtained Martin, Hilton Armstrong and the Knicks' 2012 first round draft pick. On the top of Hughes, the Kings end up with sixth-man of the year candidate, Carl Landry, and Joey Dorsey.

The deal opens up $9 million of cap space for the Knicks, who shed Jared Jeffries' lucrative deal and acquired McGrady's expiring contract in return. The move allows the Knicks to sign two free agents to max deals in the offseason.
