Florida baby returns home

Plus, SU clinches the Big East and Governor Patterson is found guilty in an ethics review

A baby just weeks-old was found safe Wednesday after being taken from his parents Tuesday night, according to CNN. The baby was abducted by a 19-year old female who posed as a state agent for Child Services and threatened to call police if the parents did not hand the child over. The baby and the suspect were found at the teenager's mother's home early Wednesday.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said that the infant's parents had taken him for a checkup at Shands Jacksonville Hospital, and while they were there they noticed a woman following them. When they arrived home, a woman also arrived and said she was with the Department of Children and Families.

Governor Patterson violates gift ban

The New York State Commission of Public Integrity charged Governor David Patterson today with violating the gift ban of the state's ethic laws, according to The Post Standard. Patterson accepted free tickets to the first game of the 2009 World Series from the New York Yankees.

The commission and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo will investigate whether Patterson or anyone else committed a crime by testifying falsely while under oath.

The tickets enabled Patterson, two members of his staff, his son and his son's friend to attend the Oct. 28 World Series game between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies for free, the commission said.

Syracuse wins the Big East

Syracuse's win over St. John's Tuesday night clinched the Big East title, according to ESPN. It is the second outright win for the Orange.

Arinze Onuaku and Andy Rautins helped bring home the title in their senior game at the Carrier Dome. It was the last home game for the fifth-year seniors.

Tuesday night's game came after a historic win against Villanova (95-77) in front of a recording breaking on-campus crowd of 34,616 fans which propelled Syracuse from 4th to 1st in both the AP and ESPN/USA today polls.
