The FBI and the IRS raided a government-funded clinic run by New York state Senate majority leader Pedro Espada Jr, The Post-Standard reports. The raid came one day after New York's attorney general Andrew Cuomo accused Espada Jr. of draining nearly $14 million from the Bronx clinic
Investigators searched the Soundview Healthcare Network, where a big canopy above the front door lists Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. as its president and CEO. Espada spokesman Steve Mangione didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment left on his cell phone and through e-mail. FBI spokesman Jim Margolin said only that the search was part of an ongoing investigation.
Benjamin Franklin gets a facelift today when the Treasury Department unveils a new $100 bill Wednesday, CNN reports. It is the first remake of the denomination since 1996. The new design debut at a 10:30 a.m. ceremony at the Department of the Treasury's Cash Room. Both Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke were in attendance.
"The $100 note is the highest value denomination of U.S. currency in general circulation, and it circulates broadly around the world," according to a statement from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The denomination is popular when large amounts of cash need to be carried internationally.
Anti-counterfeiting measures are the main reason the United States has been revamping currency.

As the Big Ten Conference looks to expand, Crouthamel said there could be large changes for the NCAA with the reformation of conferences. Among those changes, no more Big East for Syracuse athletics.
