As the clock struck midnight, Cinderella's time was up. Butler fell to Duke 61-59 in the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. Butler played competitively all night long, taking the game to the final seconds when a Gordon Heyward half-court rimmed out. Duke's top three scorers, Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer accounted for 47 of Duke's 61 points.

The Blue Devils last won the title in 2001. Mike Krzyzewski tied Adolph Rupp for second all time, with four championships. This championship is unique. Duke had to play Butler in Butler's home city of Indianapolis. Kyle Singler was named the Final Four's most outstanding player.

Search for miners could take days

It could take rescue workers two days to search for miners in West Virginia, a mining official said. The rescuers must drill bore holes 1,200 feet down to ventilate the mine according to Kevin Stricklin of U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration. Four miners are unaccounted for and are at serious health risks to methane and carbon monoxide Stricklin said.

The explosion happened Monday afternoon at Massey Energy Co., 30 miles south of Charleston, according to CNN. The explosion resulted in 25 deaths, in addition to the 4 unaccounted for men. The mine has had previous safety problems, including three men dying in the last 12 years, according to federal documents. This accident was the biggest mining disaster since 27 people were killed in Utah.

Maoists suspected in attack on police

Maoists are suspected to be behind an attack that killed 72 police officers in eastern India, authorities said. About 200 officers of federal Central Reserve Police Force and a local police group were inspecting a road in the Dantewada district when they were ambushed, authorities said.

Dantewada's top district administrator Reena Kengale told CNN the assailants fired on the security officers and set off landmine explosions. A four hour shootout ensued between the attackers and security forces according to Kengale. According to CNN India views Maoists as the greatest security risk inside the country. In Feb.,  India's prime minister said Maoists were responsible for 900 deaths in India.
