A St. Camillus employee was attacked in her car late Tuesday night after her shift, the Post Standard reports. The woman was sitting in her car around 11:40 pm Tuesday night after her shift on at the St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation center on Fay Road. As she was sitting in her car, she was slashed on the cheek. The victim has a 3- to 4- inch cut on her cheek. Police are not releasing the name of the woman and the investigation is ongoing.
In Denver, Nugget's coach George Karl has been diagnosed with cancer, ESPN reports. Karl will begin a six-week treatment for neck and throat cancer that will force him to miss some games and practices. Karl is already a prostate cancer survivor. He made the announcement to the press with his team and doctors present. Karl has coached Denver to the playoffs each of the last five seasons. His 260 wins since joining the Nuggets in January 2005 are the second most in team history.
Across seas, an anti-whaling activist is being held on a Japanese whaling boat after secretly boarding the boat the day before, MSNBC reports. New Zealand and Japanese diplomats have been meeting to discuss what to do with Peter Bethune who jumped aboard Japan's Shanon Maru 2 from a jet ski. Bethune says he was trying to make a citizen's arrest of the ship's captain and hand over a $3 million dollar bill for the destruction of his protest ship last month. The boarding is another conflict in a series between the U.S Sea Sheperd activist group against Japanese whaling.
