Delaware pediatrician charged in 471 sex crimes against young patients

Plus, SU student injured in crash and Jay Leno's return to "The Tonight Show."

After years of suspicion among parents and questions from colleagues about his strange behavior, Delaware pediatrician, Dr. Earl Bradley, has been charged with the serial molestation of 103 children.

Bradley was arrested after a 2-year-old girl told her mother that the doctor hurt her in Dec. when he took her to a basement room at his office following an exam.

He has been charged with 471 counts of sexual crimes and prosecutors expect to add more counts to the 160-page indictment.

The indictment alleges Bradley was videotaping his sexual exploitation of patients, as far back as Dec. 1998. The charges against Bradley include rape, sexual exploitation of a child, unlawful sexual contact, continuous sexual abuse of a child, assault and reckless endangering.

Bradley, who was arrested in Dec. and initially charged with 29 felony counts for allegedly abusing nine children, is being held with bail set at $2.9 million. His medical license was permanently revoked by the state Board of Medical Practice last week.

Prosecutors urge former patients and parents to come forward. They have sent out about 3,100 letters to Bradley’s patients.

Jay Leno and the a-listers

Jay Leno has found plenty of a-list guests to make his return to “The Tonight Show” memorable.

Leno, who will be on-air beginning March 1, has found an abundance of interesting guests to highlight his return. Leno will welcome former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and three top U.S. Olympians from the Winter Olympics.

Musical guests include Brad Paisley and Avril Lavigne.

In his first couple weeks, guests include Kim Kardashian, Jamie Foxx and Morgan Freeman.

Perhaps these big-name celebrities will help Leno and NBC revive their late-night franchise.

Wachter articles

Very interesting. The series of articles written here run the gamut of information. A local interest article about the student, hopefully she makes a full recovery from this accident, I would be interested in knowing if she was wearing a seat belt. As a Safety professional I constantly struggle with educating co-workers on the importance of safety belts and distracted driving, god’s speed for her recovery. Not being a Jay Leno Fan, I appreciate knowing that his attempt at coming back is full of guests I could care less about. Palin has long overstayed her 15 minutes of fame, her extreme right views are not what this country needs; only Glenn Beck is more nauseating. I am from the jersey shore and "who are these people, who cares what they do. The doctor story is quite disturbing and unfortunately a read on the sick society that the abounds in world tody. We entrust our children to doctors only to find out this sick perverted behavior exists, where was his staff, distracted with cell phones and you tube? They had to know something was going on with this nut, but chose to do the right thing apparently years ago. What is wrong with America today?
Thanks for the array of articles Ms. Wachter, continue to look for the unusual, unfortunately it’s out there.
