Cuomo meets with bishop to discuss Catholic schools

Gov. Andrew Cuomo planning budget cuts to non-public schools.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan had a private lunch with Gov Cuomo today, according to The Post-Standard. Dolan would not discuss what he spoke about with Cuomo, including the issue of the Detroit lawyer who criticized Cuomo for living with his girlfriend Sandra Lee.

The governor grew up Catholic and is interested in helping Catholic schools even though his new budget cuts funds to non-public schools. Cuomo says Catholic schools are cost effective.
