Two upstate utility companies announced today that their customers will pay less for heat this winter. The typical consumer will see their heating bill decrease by 12.8%.

My take: This is great news for all residing in Central New York. Especially with the state of the economy these days, it is wonderful the locals will be getting a financial break.
Obama has met with officials today in his war council regarding McChrystal’s report for adding as many as 40,000 troops in Afghanistan. There will be another meeting on Friday. Press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama’s decision is still weeks away.

Burger King gets a major face lift
Burger King has announced a plan to revamp 12,000 locations worldwide. BK’s CEO is calling the new look “more contemporary and edgy”. This effort is a means to give the fast food chain a more “casual dining” feel.

My take: It is hard to believe one of America’s favorite fast food joints (it is currently #2 behind McDonalds) is making such a drastic and costly change at this time. In my opinion, re-designing the fast food joint is a waste of money. The Whopper will taste the same on a hip new table with a chandelier overhead.
