Charlie Sheen's Twitter sets new Guinness world record

Actor boasts more than 1 million followers on Twitter.

Charlie Sheen set a new world record when his Twitter account reached 1 million followers in 25 hours and 17 minutes, according to Enterntainment Weekly. 

Sheen joined the social-media website on March 1 and his total followers at the moment are 1.1 million. According to Mashable, Sheen acquired more that 60,000 followers. 

Guinness community manager Dan Barrett told Mashable that Guinness did not have a previous record for that catergory.

Sheen has been all over the news lately after he verbally attacked his sitcom's producer, Chuck Lorne. Since then, Sheen has been interviewed by various shows. His meltdown on those shows has made him a popular topic on Twitter as well as other social media websites like YouTube and Facebook.
