Recent evidence suggests that a grenade assault by United States troops killed Linda Norgrove, a Briton being held captive by Taliban in Afghanistan, not her captors, according to The New York Times.
British Prime Minister David Cameron announced at a news conference Monday that Gen. David H. Petraeus informed him that a survey of the assault led him to believe that U.S. rescuers threw a grenade in the area that Norgrove was being held, the blast killing her.
A full investigation of the raid will be launched by the United States and the United Kingdom.
