Protestors in Wisconsin have at least one reason to celebrate this afternoon. Police said they will be allowed to spend another night at the Wisconsin capitol protesting the proposed budget bill, according to CNN.
Originally, the police said all protestors needed to be out of the building by late Sunday afternoon. Many people did leave but hundreds defied the order and remained inside. Those who stayed said that they were willing to take the risk of being arrested.
Protestors are opposing Gov. Scott Walker's proposal to curb collective-bargaining rights in an attempt to balance the state's budget. Union leaders have even agreed to pay more for their health and pension benefits but are still objected to curbing their collective-bargaining rights.
Walker says that Wisconsin is "broke" and that the unions are trying to use their power to back necessary cost-saving measures.
