Arrest on 20-month-old baby’s death

Syracuse Police have arrested a man in the fatal shooting of 20-month-old Rashad Walker Jr. They say the incident was gang-related

In a news conference on Tuesday, the Syracuse Police Department announced the arrest of Sequan Evans, 21, for the shooting death of a 20-month-old baby, according to News Channel 9.

Rashad Walker Jr. was strapped to his seat in a car with his father in the city’s South Side, when the suspect allegedly shot the baby in the head in the South Side on Sunday.

Walker Jr. was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Evans was charged with murder and the criminal possession of a weapon. Police say he is a member of the Bricktown Gang, and that the baby’s father, Rashad Walker Sr., belongs to the opposing 110 Gang. Authorities added that the shooting was related to the earlier shooting of former high school sport star Kahary Blue.
