Allen Iverson set to make his return to the professional basketball court -- in the Middle East

Former 1996 No. 1 overall pick of the Philadelphia 76ers has no suitors in the NBA so decides to look elsewhere for employment.

Allen Iverson is toiling with the idea of joining professional basketball team the Besiktas of Istanbul in the Middle East. The deal would mean millions in financial stability, a fresh start and another chance to prove that he belongs in the NBA and is still a superstar.

After taking off the end of the regular season two seasons back to deal with family issues, the four-time scoring champion is without a home. Last season, Iverson had two short outings with the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers both that ended dreadfully. He was not himself only averaging 13.9 points per game compared to his career average of 26.7 points per game, accoring to ESPN.com.

Iverson's manager Gary Moore told Yahoo! Sports, "We are in very serious negotiations with Besiktas. Istanbul is beautiful from everything we've learned. It's not that far from the U.S., and the competition is good, which makes it all attraction. The deal is worth a reported $2 million and Iverson is going to have his decision by the end of the week. Moore says, "Allen [just] wants to play basketball."
