An additional hole will be drilled into the West Virginia mine where four miners are believed to be, in an effort ventilate the mine and allow up to 30 rescuers to access the mine, according to CNN. Officials initially said there would be four holes drilled, but they hope the fifth will help clear the air more quickly. An explosion at the Upper Big Branch South Mine killed 25 miners on Monday, making it the deadliest U.S. mining disaster in 25 years.
On Tuesday, rescue teams were forced to turn back because of unsafe levels of methane and carbon monoxide in the mine, putting them at risk of a second explosion. Officials want to make sure the air is cleared before continuing rescue efforts in the mine.
"The rescue teams are prepared," said West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin. "They're charged up, ready to go."

Also, fewer students would be able to attend summer school and funding for the marching band would be cut by $4,000.
The $66.3 million spending plan must be approved by city residents. City residents can vote on the budget on May 18.
