Nike is releasing new uniforms for multiple NCAA Division I basketball teams this month, according to syracuse.com. Last night at the Carrier Dome both Syracuse and Connecticut's basketball teams donned new Nike uniforms for Wednesday night's Big East match-up, which Syracuse won 72-67, improving its overall record to 24-1.
Syracuse's white home uniforms feature orange accents around the neck and on the waistband, while the orange away unis feature navy blue accents. Nike also incorporated images of S.U. campus landmarks on the back panel of the jersey, such as the Dome and the Hall of Languages.
Nike is referring to the new series of uniforms as the 'Hyper Elite' series and says these new jerseys are the lightest and most breathable of its kind. Along with new game uniforms came new warm-ups, which Orange center, Arinze Onuaku, described as "inmate uniforms."
